What are DMCC Approved Auditors?
DMCC approved auditors are auditing companies who have been officially listed in the DMCC Approved Auditors Register. These firms are licensed by the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) to perform audits and issue financial statements on behalf of DMCC-licensed companies.
Is there an annual audit requirement in DMCC?
Yes. All registered companies of DMCC must file their annual audited financial statements via the DMCC online portal. Such an audit must be conducted by a DMCC approved auditor to achieve a business license renewal.
Who can sign the audit report?
Only a DMCC approved auditor can sign and upload the audit report on the DMCC portal. The authority does not accept reports submitted by non-approved firms.
When should DMCC audits be conducted?
The audited accounts should be submitted within 90 days from the end of the company’s financial year. It is advisable to initiate the process well ahead to avoid last-minute inconveniences.
Can DMCC impose penalties for late filing?
Yes. Failure to submit your audit report within time can result in fines, penalties, or delay of your trade license until compliance is made.
What are the auditing standards used in DMCC?
All approved auditors within DMCC will be required to comply with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in addition to DMCC’s own regulatory audit and financial reporting requirements.
Are UAE free zone companies generally exempt from this provision?
No. The audit requirement under DMCC applies only to companies registered with the DMCC Authority. Each UAE free zone has its own reporting and audit requirements.
