Expo 2020 Dubai was scheduled for launch in October; however, authorities may adjust preparations due to the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19). Ongoing developments of Expo 2020 Dubai have been closely monitored and authorities are taking sensible precautions in managing and mitigating risks to those that are involved with the upcoming business exposition.
As organizers of the upcoming mega event are continuing in the preparations, planned preparations were adjusted as the changing circumstances require.
Containing Virus Spread in UAE
Amid concerns regarding the effect of COVID-19 on the business expo to be held later in the year, organizers of the event issued a statement highlighting its preparedness:
“Alongside the UAE government, we’re working hard in adapting to the events that surround the spread of coronavirus disease. The well-being of every single individual that is involved in the mega event, as well as those that live in or visit the country, is the main priority and won’t be compromised. Similar to governments across the globe, authorities in the UAE have taken a broad range of precautionary measures in containing virus spread.”
Organizers of the event also said they will be following the latest guidance and instructions given by Dubai Health Authority, World Health Organization, and Health and Prevention Ministry as they work with Int’l Bureau of Expos in Paris, as well as other relevant authorities as the situation evolves.
Plans for the EXPO 2020
In the same statement made a few days ago, the organizers guaranteed that they will remain alert and attentive, virtually reconvening Steering Committee of Expo 2020 Dubai in the following weeks in order to adjust and reassess all planned preparations. The committee is confident of its incredible resilience and the collective strength of the human spirit which will enable the population in navigating life even with this time of great difficulty.
